Queer Women of Color Reproductive Justice Gathering

As a part of our mission to amplify and strengthen the collective voices of Indigenous women and women of color and to ensure reproductive justice through securing human rights, Sister Song‘s (Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective) will convene a leadership gathering of LGBTQ Indigenous women and women of color that will celebrate the unique contributions and shared interests of queer women in the reproductive justice (RJ) movement.  This gathering will focus on the intersecting issues of Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights; access to health services; information and resources that are culturally and linguistically appropriate through the integration of the disciplines of community organizing and human rights education.  This convening will be an opportunity to celebrate the significant contributions queer women have been making and look forward to the continued innovation and leadership of sexual orientation and gender identity lenses in the RJ movement.  The gathering will help strengthen a shared vision, build support of peer-leadership, strengthen intersectional movement alignment and develop potential policy agenda action items.  We will focus on both community building/ leadership development and concrete action planning to strengthen the national movement of women of color to organize our voices to represent ourselves and our communities.

Sister Song will include leaders from organizations within it’s membership and additional allied movement organizations, including: youth, faith, civil rights, gender justice and others who include queer women of color leadership.
